How to Gift Bobos in Steal the Bobo

Gifting in Steal the Bobo lets you hand a Bobo to a friend without a formal trade window. The official Roblox description advertises “Trade & gift Bobos with friends to grow together.” Gifts are social tools — not a loophole around How to Trade math. This guide covers when gifting beats trading, safety rules, and how gifts interact with the Index.

Gift vs trade

Trades use the structured trade UI, show both sides, and suit value swaps tracked by Values and the Trade Helper. Gifts are one-way transfers — perfect for helping a friend finish an Index entry or returning a borrowed Bobo, dangerous when a stranger demands “just gift it to prove trust.”

Default rule: use trades when both players care about fairness; use gifts only when you intentionally want to give something away.

When gifting makes sense

Good gift moments:

1. Index charity — you have a duplicate that completes a friend’s set bonus (Complete the Index).
2. Returning loans — you borrowed a Bobo to test income; gift it back locked-session afterward.
3. Teaching — hand a low-tier engine to a new player after Getting Started so they feel progress.
4. Celebrating a patch — optional, social, and never your last top earner.

Bad gift moments: strangers in chat, “verification” requests, anyone who asked you to unlock first.

Safety checklist

1. Lock before opening gift menus unless the UI requires brief unlock — re-lock immediately after.
2. Gift only Bobos you listed as expendable in your trade prep notes.
3. Never gift your only high-tier income Bobo unless you already replaced its cash/sec.
4. Screenshot or note what you gifted if the recipient is new — disputes happen.
5. If pressure rises (“gift faster”), cancel and leave the server.

Gifts cannot be undone. Treat them like cash burns.

Gifts and Index progress

Many collection systems keep discovery credit after you no longer hold a Bobo, but verify in-client after July 2026 patches. Before gifting a unique Index piece:

• Confirm your own Index no longer needs it.
• Confirm the friend’s Index still lacks it (Index Guide).
• Prefer gifting duplicates, not loaned uniques you still need for boosts.

If unsure, use a trade with a fair add instead of a one-way gift.

Gifts vs raids vs path buys

Party workflow

Duos sometimes gift mid-tier fillers so the partner can afford a snipe, then trade back higher later. Write the plan in chat before gifting: “Gift back after snipe” is not enforceable — trust only real friends.

• “Moderators need a gift to verify duplication glitches.”
• “Unlock so the gift button works” followed by a raid grab.

Official gifting should not require leaving your base open for minutes. If it does, re-read Controls and cancel when nervous.

After you gift

Re-estimate income with the Income Estimator. Replace lost engines via path snipes or fair trades. Update your Index missing list. Lock the base before chasing the next social favor.
